Hello. I love working with clients that are trying to improve the relationships they have with themselves. I have improved the relationship I have with myself and I believe I can support you if you are on this journey.

Message me here using the BACP form or email me (marina.lorenzato@gmail.com) so we can arrange a free 10 minutes introductory call to see if we are a good fit before you commit to a session. I respond very quickly. After our call I will offer you a few slot options for our first session.

I have availability for online sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays and for in person sessions on Wednesdays.

I can help you with: anxiety, ADHD, abuse, bereavement, identity issues, anxiety, depression, family issues, psychosexual issues, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, boundaries, addictions, panic attacks, phobias, eating disorders, trauma and relationship concerns. I also support my clients in career choices, life purpose and spirituality.

Do you feel inauthentic?

Do you find yourself pleasing others and don't know the reason.

Do you allow other people to constantly cross your boundaries?

Is it difficult for you to be vulnerable and establish strong connections?

Are you feeling powerless in the relationships you have in your life?

Do you feel stuck? Overwhelmed? Frustrated?

Do you get caught up in loops of self criticism?

Do you struggle to self regulate?

I believe I can help you. I have 4000 hours working as a therapist and I support people just like you every day. And I love what I do.

There is a reason for why you are experiencing one or more of the above examples, and together we will unpack things and implement changes.

About me and my therapy practice

I studied at Psychosynthesis Trust and I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling (PGDip) which is validated by the Middlesex University and accredited by both the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

Recently I have finished a Sensorimotor Psychotherapy training at the Sensorimotor Institute with Pat Ogden. Sensorimotor is a type of talk therapy that focuses on bringing awareness to the body, unlocking its wisdom.

I also work with Internal Family System Therapy (IFS). IFS focuses on identifying the different parts of us such as the inner critic, inner child, protectors and so on, and checking what part is getting in the way of our growth.

In addition to my private practice I am a training assistant at the Psychosynthesis Trust, a renowned institution in London Bridge that trains counsellors and psychotherapists. I have volunteered at the Volunteer Hackney Centre visiting people suffering from isolation, as well as various physical and mental health issues, supporting them to meet their life goals and rebuild their independence, and at the Waterloo Community Counselling working with immigrants, focusing on cultural adjustment, abuse, self-esteem issues and anxiety. In 2021 I worked as a therapist for Solace Women Aid supporting women that went through domestic abuse.

ABOUT ME

I grew up in a small town in Brazil and moved to London in 2014. Both in Brazil and in London, I worked in the fast paced creative industry. I believe this gave me a deep understanding of human relationships.

I am passionate about working with women, people from cross cultural backgrounds and minority groups in general.

I also have a qualification as a yoga teacher in India and I am very interested in working with body related issues.

In addition to my private practiceI I run workshops about the concept of the inner child, archetypes and the tarot.

I love cooking, playing the piano and travelling.

Practice description

I work by thinking about the human being as a whole: body, emotions, feelings, thoughts, intuition, and all the ways human beings can express themselves in the world are welcome in the process.

My work incorporates Internal Family Systems Therapy, Transpersonal Psychology, attachment theory, psychoeducation, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Psychosynthesis and Jungian Therapy.

That combined approach can offer insights for a life with more choices. In opposition to other models that mostly focus on the brain and on correcting behaviours, as an integrative therapist with a transpersonal lense, I believe that all uncomfortable feelings or mental health issues serve the function of a “wake up call”. There is something trying to emerge behind any mental health problem.

I try to look at the person, and not the problem or the mental health label. The person and their journey are bigger than labels and problems.

Here are some of the feedback I have received recently from clients I have worked with (all feedback disclosure here are with formal and explicit authorization from my clients):

"I can’t count the number of times I’ve told people how important and helpful I found counselling with you. I wanted to thank you again and let you know that I’ve generally been really good, and am definitely getting better at self soothing and at reaching out to the right people for support"

"I can't express how grateful I am to have found Marina after other therapy attempts in the past. Her guidance, support, and therapy style have been invaluable to me on my journey. Marina supported me during university, where I tackled social anxiety, work life, family life, and student life"

"Our sessions have been an incredible journey and I genuinely appreciate the support, guidance and understanding you've provided throughout this process. I am leaving our sessions feeling lighter with a greater sense of self and confidence and feel very very lucky to have had you as my therapist"

My first session

Getting Started:  Message me here using the BACP form or email me (marina.lorenzato@gmail.com) so we can arrange a free 10 minutes introductory call to see if we are a good fit before you commit to a session. I respond very quickly. After our call I will offer you a few slot options for our first session.

During our first session we will decide together if we are going to work in an open contract or with a pre established number of sessions.

Working in an open contract means we have time to visit your core wounds and understand your behavioural patterns.

If we decide to work with a pre stablished number of sessions we will identify together what area of your life you temporarily need clarity and support.

Fees: £85 for online sessions and £95 for in person sessions
