About me and my therapy practice

It can be difficult to find the courage to reach out and ask for help.

You may be a couple who are facing relationship difficulties and need a third party to help you work through your concerns. You might be an individual coming to counselling because you are in crisis, unable to see a way through a situation or seeking the 'right' answer to a difficult life decision. It may have taken many years to find the courage to seek help for issues which run deep, perhaps stemming from difficult, early experiences in childhood or from trauma.

Whatever is causing you to reach out at this time, I offer an accepting, empowering and encouraging environment as I assist you to find ways to move forward.

I am a fully qualified therapist, with an MA Degree, a Doctorate and a Diploma in Psychodynamic Therapeutic Counselling and Relationship Therapy. I work with both individual adult clients and also with couples.

I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy), meaning that I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. This guides my counselling work, ensuring that I operate safely and ethically. I am fully insured and hold a full public liability insurance and an up-to-date Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

I have a successful private practice where I work with many clients from different and diverse backgrounds. My client group includes men and women of all ages, ethnicities and cultural backgrounds.

Practice description

I offer weekly therapy sessions online, on the phone or in person. Each session is 50 minutes long.

Some clients have just a few sessions, others choose longer term support.

I work with couples looking for relationship counselling and also work with individual clients.

My approach is systemic and psychodynamic, meaning that I am able to work both in the 'here and now' to problem solve issues in couple relationships, but also to help individuals look more deeply, looking at unconscious processes and how the past may be continuing to shape the present.

My first session

Once you make the decision to seek support, you can reach out to me by email.

I will set up an initial 15 min Zoom for us to meet and discuss what you are looking for.

At our first session, we will have an initial conversation about what brings you to counselling and if we decide to meet, our first session will be an opportunity for us to see if we feel we can work together.

During our first session, I will ask quite a few questions to understand the problem. You will have a chance to ask me any questions you may have about the process. I will take some personal details, explain confidentiality and we will have the opportunity to see if we feel we can work together.
