About me and my therapy practice

Hello I'm Rachel, a Therapist (MBACP) working in East London and online.

I support my clients to live as freely and authentically as possible. I work in an empathetic and relational way, helping to bring awareness to whatever feels difficult or limiting. I’m interested in your unique experiences and identity, and whatever has brought you here.

Clients come to therapy for many reasons. Some want support to make changes and find balance in their life. Others have a sense of feeling stuck, and their ways of coping no longer seem to work. Many are experiencing relationship difficulties, feelings of depression or anxiety, or coming to terms with loss or trauma. Whatever is going on for you, therapy can help to support you.

I offer a space which is :

Open and honest

Creative

Curious about what makes you ‘you’

Where you feel seen and listened to, and

Where we can explore our difference and how we connect with one another

Alongside my private practice, I volunteer in a community-based charity that supports mental well-being in Hackney, E8. I also have over 20 years of supporting people during fertility, pregnancy and parenthood.

Practice description

I am warm, open, curious and honest and will work together with you. It is up to you what you bring to your sessions and I respect the commitment that my clients make.

I am trained in Gestalt Therapy, which works with the ‘here and now’ helping you to develop more awareness of how you are and how you relate to others. I can help you to make positive change, and support you in moments of transition or difficulty. If you are feeling stuck, we can explore a different way of seeing your life. Together we can open up space and find balance. If you have experienced trauma or simply feel cut-off from yourself, I can support you to re-integrate mind and body through mindfulness and bodily awareness.

I adhere to the BACP code of ethics, have regular supervision and am committed to my professional development so I can best support my clients with whatever they bring to the room.

My first session

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get a sense of one another and for you to experience how we might work together. It is important for you to feel you have a ‘good fit’ with your therapist and there is no commitment to work together at this point.

If we decide to continue, we can explore what feels right for you; some clients want a short period of sessions, others feel they need longer-term therapy. We will arrange a weekly time that will be yours with reviews to see how the therapy is working.

If you would like to book an initial 15 minute consultation or if you have any questions, please contact me via the contact form or message.
