About me and my therapy practice

At Amanda Phillipa Counselling, you will receive a professional warm welcome to a place where you can discover more about how you are feeling. I have experience helping clients navigate life's challenges and work out where to go next in their own personal journey. Starting counselling can feel daunting but I will help you to feel comfortable about this part of your life. 

I offer person-centred counselling therapy which moves at your own pace. I work with a range of areas, including abuse, addictions, anxiety, bereavement, child related issues, depression, loss, relationships, self esteem, self-harm, stress, trauma, work related issues. I work in an integrative and relational way which means I am trained in approaches that can meet your individual needs. I am experienced and qualified to work with children, young people and adults.

Practice description

My approach to therapy is rooted in empathy, compassion, and being non-judgemental. I believe that with the right support we can all find our strength and peace. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where you can feel comfortable exploring your thoughts and feelings, and where you may develop the skills and tools to reflect, heal and move forward. 


I will provide a safe and supportive space where you can delve into your thoughts, feelings and experiences therefore empowering you to move forward from a stuck place. Together we will explore the possibilities and life choices available to you. I will offer support in finding a clearer understanding of your thoughts and feelings. I endeavour to help you feel comfortable with yourself, better able deal with life-problems in your own way and discover your self-worth.

My first session

During a therapy session you will be listened to and heard with warmth, honesty and respect. Your experiences will be validated and you will be seen and accepted for who you are. I believe that you have the capacity for change and I will support you on your journey towards this. I am experienced and qualified to work with children and young people as well as adults. If your child is struggling, please get in touch and we can talk about what they are experiencing and how the therapy I offer could help.
